You come across a man like Chris once in a lifetime. There are not many human beings that touch a whole community's heart and inspire through example. Chris was one of the gentlest, most selfless, and giving men that I have ever had the priveledge of calling a friend. Chris touched my life and my family's life in a way that words can not describe. The sorrow that we feel is undescribable, the void that we feel is felt by our whole community and beyond. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, JoAnne, Christopher and Dani. Know that we love you and are here for you. I know that I am a better person because of Chris. Love, Bart, Michelle, Carlos, Man-Child, Bear and Dizzy-gurl

As I only knew Chris from many phone conversations at work they were always pleasant ones. Chris always answered with enthusiasm even though he knew that if we were calling him it meant trouble. please accept my deepest respects to the Anderson family.........
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
"The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you."

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
My deepest sympathies go out to the entire Anderson family. Chris will be forever missed. We've lost you here on Earth, but Heaven has gained a new angel. May your wings set you free.

One of lifes cruel ironies echoes in my mind as we try to cope with the loss of a friend.
You do not know what you have till it is gone..
Coach Chris was one of the best. My father once told me you could count your real friends on on hand and still have fingers left over. You would be hard pressed to find a man more genuine, caring, or giving than Chris. He had a personality that envoled you. He always seemed to have time for a chat, to play with the childern he loved so dearly. Simple put he CARED. Sometimes in life when things are going well, we often take the good for granted I know that when ever it came time for football or baseball , we would always look forward to seeing the man who had a smile, an ear, an arm to wrestle a kid and a wise crack to brighten the day. Nariticong field will never be the sameto us..
Although my family has moved recently we feel the loss...
Our deepest symapathy goes out to Joann, Christopher and Danielle as well as his family and friends.
We have all lost , God only takes the BEST.
They say a mans legacy is defined not only by what he has done in his lifetimw but what he has left behind.Needless to say WHAT A LEGACY... Hopatcong feels the loss but the memories we have to hold on to!!! We do know that he has touched our family and childern in a way that will alway be a postive influence on them.
For that we will be forever greatful to you.Coach Chris your soul may have moved on but you will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever.....

Although I do not live in Hopatcong. Nor did my kids cheer or play football. My family and I have been to many football games for Hopatcong watching our niece and nephews play. I have had the great opportunity to meet Chris he was always with a smile. The last time I spoke with him I was helping in the kitchen at a Warriors game. He joked with me because I was not from Hopatcong, and there I was helping out. I know he will be greatly missed by all. He has touched many hearts in his short life.
My heart goes out to all.
I'd like to leave you with this one thought.
As you look into the sky,
A bright shining star will appear.
Out of no where
A warm breeze will gently grace your face.
A soft touch on your shoulder
An embrace from up above.
It will be your Guardian Angel.
It will be Chris.

To the family and friends of Chris, our hearts and our prayers go out to all of you. Chris was very special. His tireless efforts and dedication to the kids of Hopatcong will be missed. There will be a great void in our community without him. I am thankful for all the support he has given my family and me over the last 6 years. God speed my friend, we will miss you.

Our hearts are broken at the loss of our dear friend Chris. He was a wonderful man, caring and dedicated to his family, friends, town and anyone who needed help. He was an amazing role model for us all. I am proud to call him friend and I know I am a better person for having known him. We will always keep him and his family in our hearts and prayers.
