Obituary of Anthony Taylor

Anthony "Sammy" Taylor of Daytona Beach, FL formerly of Hopatcong, NJ died November 19, 2007 in Velousia County FL. after a long illness. He was 76. Born in Dover, he lived in Hopatcong before moving to Daytona Beach over 15 years ago. He was a self employed excavator. Prior to that he was a controller for various corporations. He also attended Seton Hall University for 2 years before receiving his bachelors degree from Upsala College. He served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He received a Purple Heart after being wounded in Korea. A 3Rd Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council at St. Jude in Hopatcong, the original postmaster of the VFW Post #10101 in Hopatcong , Hopatcong volunteer fireman and he served on the town council in Hopatcong from 1967-1969. He also loved antique cars and Harley Davidson's. Beloved father of Eddie of Hopatcong, Jay of Daytona Beach FL, Chris of Blairstown and Kathy Blaydes of Barnegat. Loving brother of Margaret Griffith, Louise Flynn and Mary Berry. Also survived by 10 Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial gathering on Thursday November 29, 2007 from 7 to 9pm at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850.
