Obituary of Razzie J. Santella

Razzie James Santella of Port Morris died Friday October 26, 2007 at home. He was 83. Born in Port Morris, he was a lifelong resident. At the age of 18 he entered into the Navy during World War II with his five brothers (in various armed services) Raymond, Anthony, Peter, Carmine and Patsy). He received a Purple Heart for being wounded. After being discharged from the Navy on December 11, 1945 he spent 6 years in the Merchant Marines. He was a machinist with Picatinny Arsenal in Wharton before retiring in March of 1975. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing, swimming, gardening, weight training and word searches. He was a member of the Roxbury Fire Co. #2 for 50 years, a charter and honorary member of the Knights of Columbus #3665 in Netcong, Feast of the Assumption, Succasunna Senior Citizen Association, VFW #2347 in Netcong and the West Morris YMCA. Beloved husband of Jean (nee: DeFeo). Devoted father of Carol Jean Waldron and her husband Robert of Port Morris, Orsola "Lee" Godfrey and her husband Ed of Jefferson, Anthony and his wife Liz of Landing, Patricia Peer and her husband Peter of East Stroudsburg PA and the late Mary Ann Snook who died in 2004. Endeared father-in-law of Jimmy Snook of Hopatcong. Dear brother of Tony of Orlando FL., Raymond and his wife Leona of Succasunna and Louise Paliani of Ledgewood. Loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren and cherished great grandfather of 10 great grandchildren.
