Obituary of Edward N. McConnell

Edward N. McConnell died Wednesday October 10, 2007 at his daughter's home in Newton surrounded by family. He was 90 years old. Born in Dover, Mr. McConnell resided in Hopatcong until 1949, and then moved to Stanhope from 1949-2006 prior to moving to Belvidere one year ago. He was a carpenter for Carpenter's Local #620 in Madison before retiring in 1981. He was a longtime member and warden for Christ Episcopal Church in Stanhope, served as building inspector for the Borough of Stanhope for over 25 years, was a former leader of Boy Scout Troop #91 in Stanhope, loved fishing and motorcycle riding. Mr. McConnell was a dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather whose greatest joy was spending time with his family. Loving husband of Harriett (nee: Pruden). Beloved father of Edward "Tinky" McConnell of Oxford and Patricia Kantenwein of Newton. Dear brother of Florence Wolverton of Hopatcong. Adoring grandfather of Edward McConnell, David & Robert Kantenwein, Sherry Fucci and Delores O'Leary. Cherished great grandfather of eight great grandchildren.
