Obituary of Helen Cardinale

Helen Cardinale, Great Grandmother Helen (nee: Niemczewski) Cardinale of the Landing section of Roxbury Township died Tuesday August 14, 2007 at the Morris View Nursing Home, Morris Plains following a long illness. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Cardinale was born in Brooklyn NY and lived in Landing since 1963. She was Head Cashier at Universal Carloading in New York City and then in Kearny for 24 years retiring in 1983. She was a member of the "Ever Young Seniors" of Roxbury, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Port Morris Fire Department and the Ladies Auxiliary of Elks BPOE #2109 of Mt. Arlington. She is predeceased by her first husband Paul J. Lechtanski who died in 1959, her second husband Salvatore "Red" Cardinale who died in 2004, her son-in-law Claude La Bell , Jr. who died in 1988 and two sisters Alice and Irene. Beloved mother of Mrs. Veronica La Bell of Landing. Cherished grandmother of Paul La Bell and his wife Eileen of Landing, Mrs. Dawn Minell and her husband Geno of Wharton and Brian La Bell of Landing. Loving great grandmother of Kaitlynn, Thomas and Taylor. Dear sister of Henrietta Tamburello of Flushing NY and Cecelia Walker of Versailles MO. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
