Obituary of William H. McNear

William H. McNear, Sr. of Landing passed away Saturday July 19, 2014 at Heath Village, Hackettstown. He was 90. Born in Morristown, he was lifelong resident of Landing. William was the owner/operator of McNear Excavating in Landing. He was also the past Chairman of the Board of Lakeland Savings and Loan, a member of the Board of Directors of Valley National Bank and past chief of Roxbury Fire Company #2. He is predeceased by his wife Betty J. (nee: Bixby) McNear and a grandson Willie H. McNear. He is survived by 2 sons: William H. McNear Jr, and his wife Kathryn and Mark M. McNear and his wife Debbie; a daughter: Robin A. Bourlier and her husband Jim; 3 granddaughters: April Bourlier, Emily McNear and Summer Bourlier and a brother Harrison McNear. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38105-0142. Arrangements are private under the direction of Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing.
