Obituary of Tony Pollard

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP - Tony Pollard died peacefully Friday June 15, 2007 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare's, Dover, with his family by his side after a long battle with cancer. He was 73 years old. Born in Patchogue, Long Island, Mr. Pollard resided in Kearny prior to moving to the Landing section of Roxbury Township in 1960 where he raised his family and served his community. In the 1960's and 70's he was president of the Shore Hills Country Club of Landing and in the 1980's he was on the Roxbury Town Council and Planning Board. Mr. Pollard and his family are owners/operator's of Lakeland Florist in Landing for 35 years. Prior to that, he worked as a union iron worker for many years.. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Carolyn (nee: Keir) in 2005. Tony is survived by his beloved children, Linda and her husband, Ron, Scott and Bill and his wife, Marybeth. His six adoring grandchildren, Brittany, Alex, Michael, Brian, Meagan and Kyle who will have many happy memories of their "Poppy".
