Obituary of Paul T. Naughton

Mr. Paul T. Naughton, 84, passed away on August 25, 2014. He was a resident of Succasunna for the past 50 years. Paul was born and raised in Scranton, Pa., and was the son of the late John and Jennie (Walsh) Naughton. He retired in 1995 from the Mendham School District where he worked as a custodian at the high school. Since then, he had been a very dedicated election poll worker. Paul proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He could usually be seen wearing his "U.S.S. Dyess" hat and would tear-up whenever someone stopped him and thanked him for his service. Paul was very devoted to his wife and his daughter. He would have moved heaven and earth for them, if he could. He took great pride in his home and loved working in the yard. He was an avid sports fan (go Giants, Devils and Fighting Irish). He, also, enjoyed trips to the casinos and traveling throughout the country to attend his Navy Reunions. He was already set to attend this year's reunion in Gettysburg. Paul was a member of St. Therese RC Church in Succasunna, the Ever Young Seniors of Roxbury Township, and the Tin Can Sailors. He is survived by his treasured daughter, Jane Marie Naughton, his dear brother, Frank (and Alice) of Scranton, Pa., in-laws, Margaret Huda of Dunmore, Pa., Robert Bonczek of Scranton, Pa., Madelyn and Dominick Esgro of Moscow, Pa., and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Paul was pre-deceased by the love of his life, Helen (61 years), 4 sisters, Mary Pascuzzi, Jane LaVollo, Frances Sakowski, and Ann Webb and 1 brother, John.
