Obituary of Kathleen E. Mattoon

LIFE STORY Kathleen E. Mattoon, 65, of Hopatcong, passed away on Tuesday May 26 at Kindred Hospital at St. Clare's in Dover. Born on July 19, 1949 in Cedar Grove, NJ to the late William and Vivian (Tribble) Mattoon, Kathy has resided in Hopatcong since 1962. She retired from her position as Secretary to the Chief of Police in the Borough of Hopatcong. Prior to that position, Kathy worked in the Hopatcong Borough Building Department. In total, Kathy served the Hopatcong Community for 47 years. Kathy enjoyed The Theater, traveling and spending time with Friends. Especially Ronnie and Corey. Survivors include her sisters, Wendy Mattoon and Shirley Loftus and two nephews, Colin Dunn and wife, Amy and Sean Loftus. Also surviving are a grandniece Amanda Hill and two grandnephews Caden and Spencer Dunn. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Kathy's Life Celebration will include visitation on Sunday, May 31st from 4-7PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. There will be a funeral service on Monday, June 1st at 10:00 AM also at the funeral home. Kathy will be laid to rest at the Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp., NJ.
