Obituary of John E. Kirkeby

John E. Kirkeby of Mt. Arlington, NJ passed away on Sunday, May 31st at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 92. John was born on August 18, 1922 in Nutley, NJ to the late Oscar and the late Edna (Meade) Kirkeby. He owned and operated Kirkeby's Getty Service Station in Upper Montclair, NJ for 30 years. John and his late wife, Hilda lived in Florida for 35 years before moving back to New Jersey. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was an avid NY Yankee and NY Giant Fan and he enjoyed fishing and golf. John loved his time spent at his home in Florida. John is survived by his sons; Richard and his wife Dee and Raymond and his wife, Joanne. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Hilda in 2014 John's Life Celebration will include a memorial gathering on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 11:30am at Rich & Dee Kirkeby's home, 13 Portside Road, Hopatcong, NJ 07843.
