Obituary of Thomas Walter Hogan

Thomas Walter Hogan, 88, of Hopatcong, passed away on Tuesday August 18, 2015 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare's, Dover Campus. Born on April 17, 1927 in New York City to the late Michael and Johanna Hogan, Thomas resided in the Bronx and Queens, NY and spent summers in Hopatcong from 1958 until becoming a permanent resident in 1972. Thomas served proudly in the US Navy aboard the U.S.S. Helena during World War II and he was a member of American Legion Post #278 in Stanhope. Thomas was a Lieutenant of Security for the New York Stock Exchange in New York City and worked as a pallbearer for many funeral homes in Manhattan and Queens. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Irene (Hodas), three children, Robert and wife, Sharone, Thomas and his late wife, Adeline, and Carol Moreno and husband, Stephen. In addition, he is survived by four grandchildren, Talon & Cuyler Hogan and Scott & Jeffrey and wife, Darci Moreno and great granddaughters, Ryan Carol and Kemma. Thomas' Life Celebration will include visiting on Tuesday August 25 from 3-7 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday August 26 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Jude RC Church in Hopatcong. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 am on Wednesday morning prior to Mass. Cremation is private.
