Dear Bernadette & Nancy,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Joe. We have stayed in touch over the years after our days at Seton Hall Prep. Joe was the manager the football team in 1953: he attended every practice, every game and had the kind of spirit that few have. I will miss him and never forget him.

One of the things I remember about Uncle Joe, my Godfather, is that he used to say, "Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust. We can beat anybody, but they can't beat us!". It think it was the enthusiastic way with which he chanted this cheer that I enjoyed as a child. As an adult, lately, I have found myself using the idea of "ashes to ashes and dust to dust" in discussions with friends about life, and each time that I have uttered those words in a conversation, I could hear Uncle Joe saying them. It seems that no matter where or with how much we start, we all wind up in the same place in the end. None of us asked for the life we began, but all of us are called to live out that life to the best of our abilities. Uncle Joe did just that; he lived fully a life that began and ended in a rocky manner the best that he could. I love you, Uncle Joe. You will be missed and forever remembered.

Nancy, Bernadette and Smokey, our deepest condolences on the loss of dear Joe. We have many memories to make us smile - Love how he always paid attention to our girls, and how he'd yell at the screen during Super Bowl "pass the ball, pass the BALL!" Passionate - that's what he was - and he'll be missed by many - We're here for ya - With sympathy and many hugs - BiBi and Rich, Molly and Danci, too

Joe was a very unique person. He did not have an easy beginning or end of his life, but he made the most of the years in between. He was a devoted husband and father and a diligent worker. Hope he is seeing St. Joseph and St Francis, his namesakes, and praying for all of us he has left behind,

As a godfather, Uncle Joe was the best. He never failed to call on birthdays and always made me laugh each time we talked. What a genuine infectious laugh! That is what I remember the most- he and his wife were so happy and kept one another laughing. I will miss his original Christmas songs this season.
