Obituary of Carmella Gentile

Carmella Gentile, of Netcong, passed away Saturday December 7, 2013 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. She was 92. Born in Netcong, she has resided there her entire life. Carmella was age 12 when her mother passed away. She raised her younger siblings while her father and older siblings worked. Carmella worked in the produce department in Shop Rite of Netcong for 39 years. She was a devoted member of St. Michael's Church of Netcong where she sang in the choir, helped in the kitchen for church events and was a member of their Rosary Altar Society. Carmella's generous personality led her to be very committed to her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister whose greatest joy was sharing her cooking expertise with all. Loving wife of the late Nichoas (1972), beloved mother of Priscilla "Pat" Driesse, cherished grandmother of Joseph and Michael Gorth, adoring great grandmother of Shawn Gorth and Aryana Lopez-Gorth and dearest sister of Samuel Guerra and his wife, Joanne and Lester Guerra. Carmella is also survived by her sister in law, Angie Guerra. In addition to her husband, Carmella was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony and John Guerra and four sisters, Theresa Fair, Vincenta Demeo, Mary Tedeschi and Virginia Roloson. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Carmella's Life Celebration on Tuesday December 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday December 11 at St. Michael's Church in Netcong with the time of the Mass to be determined. Carmella will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Township. The family will be accepting memorial donations directly.
