Obituary of Theresa Electa Satus

Theresa Electa Satus, 91, of the Succasunna section of Roxbury Township passed away on Monday March 28, 2016, at Regency Grande Nursing Center in Dover, NJ. Born in Newark, NJ on April 1, 1924 to the late Leo and Augusta (Stuppi) Scherer, Theresa was a graduate St. Michael's High School in Newark and prior to that, attended St. Peter's Grammar School, also in Newark. Theresa worked as a receptionist at Holland Manufacturing in Succasunna for 25 years before retirement. Theresa was a devoted member of St. Therese Parish in Succasunna. She and her family were one of the original 153 families of the parish. Theresa was a founding member of the Rosary Altar Society and served as their first and third President and also was the former head of the St. Therese CCD education program. Theresa was recognized by St. Therese Church for hand making the ceremonial baptismal bibs for over 35 years. She was also a member of the Council of Catholic Women of the Diocese of Paterson and also served as President for one term. Theresa was a member of the Roxbury PTA and served as a Girl Scout Leader. Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Frank A. in 2000. Survivors include three daughters, Constance Robinson, Theresa Gould and Catherine Pruden, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Theresa's Life Celebration will include visiting on Friday April 1, 2016, from 4-8 PM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday April 2, 2016, beginning at 9:30 am at St. Therese Church in Succasunna. Theresa will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Frank A., in Flanders Hillside Cemetery, Succasunna immediately following Mass.
