Just saw this post - so sorry to hear the news.
Rick and I were good friends from Thomas Jefferson Grade School days. I can still picture his Mom and sister, and visited him both at the house at Lidgerwood Parkway and the one on James Street.
It was great seeing him at the 50th reunion. I didn't know he was ill...

As the youngest he saw that I was protected. I got any strength I have from knowing he was in my corner. I was so proud of him and to say he was my brother. We had our private jokes. One involved a Gorilla and a gesture. So "this don't mean nothing... but this do!" Forever in my heart.

Our Deepest Condolences. Those words just don't say enough though. Our thoughts and prayers to each and every one of his beloved family. Rick is and was always a very kind and soft spoken man, never a harsh word have we ever seen cross his lips. Only kind words for all, he would do anything for anyone, and help them in anyway possible. How lucky we all where to have him in our lives. How lucky his family was to have his love and devotion. A classmate whose dignity and graciousness at all times elevated him to a position of respect and admiration, memories of Rick remained with me long after my last walk through the MHS halls.
