Obituary of Kenneth M. Trumpore

Kenneth M. Trumpore, 75, of Hopatcong, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newark, NJ, Ken resided in Short Hills, NJ prior to moving to Hopatcong 30 years ago. Ken served proudly in the US Coast Guard during the Vietnam War era. He was a licensed Master Plumber and owner of Trumpore Plumbing and Heating. Ken served on the Hopatcong Land Use Board and was past President of the Hopatcong Zoning Board. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He served as Deacon at Hillside Lutheran Church in Succasunna. Ken's greatest joys were spending time with his family and sitting in a tree stand. Ken was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley Jean, and, his daughter, Michele Bauer. Survivors include his wife, Carol (Messier), daughter, Christine Gebele (Alan), son, Mark Trumpore (Heather), step son, Robert Butler, step daughter, Christine DeMeola (Anthony), son-in-law, Timothy Bauer, grandchildren, Jason, Scott and Eric Gebele, Nicholas and Brett Bauer, and Ryan, Amanda and Lauren Trumpore, siblings, Lawrence Trumpore and Arlene Trumpore-Kreimer, and step granddaughter, Mia DeMeola. Ken's Life Celebration will include visitation on Thursday, December 22, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A funeral service will be offered on Friday, December 23, beginning at 10:00 AM at Hillside Lutheran Church, 113 S. Hillside Avenue, Succasunna, NJ. Ken will be laid to rest privately at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital through www.stjude.org.
