Obituary of JoAnn Herrera

JoAnn Herrera of Lake Hopatcong, NJ passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Hackensack University Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was 62 years old. She was born on February 20, 1954 in Dover, NJ to Maria (Arias) Rastiello and the late Joseph Herrera She resided in Lake Hopatcong, NJ for the past 4 years and previous to that, she lived in Stanhope. JoAnn was a truck driver and was employed by the NJ Department of Transportation, County Concrete, Saxton Falls Sand & Gravel and more recently Berkshire Transportation. She enjoyed cooking, doll collecting, and making jewelry but most importantly JoAnn loved to spend time with her family. JoAnn is survived by her devoted daughter, Angela, her close friend, David Engle, her mother, Maria Rastiello, her sisters, Mary Vivian and Constance Squillaro and her brother, Joseph. Additional survivors include her cherished grandchildren, Alexus, Britney and Gavin and her faithful canine companions, Chloe and JoJo. She was pre-deceased by her son, George Smith in 2009. JoAnn's Life Celebration will include visitation on Saturday, January 21st from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 21st at 12:30 pm at St. Therese RC Church, 151 Main St., Succasunna, NJ.
