Very sorry for your loss. While I never met Mr. Landis I have known his son David for many years. That experience has given me an idea of the kind of person he was. I can see his influence in the kindness, consideration, and intelligence of his son.

Sympathy & Love goes out to Phil's entire family during this extremely sad time. Anyone who was connected to Phil Riff knows that he also had yet another extended family; his musical family... and the loss of the Riffmeister has affected that musical family in a very profound way. His extensive list of music collaborations reach far & wide, and he has endeared himself to anyone & everyone who ever had the privilege of making music with him.
Music aside, Phil was a true gentleman in every sense of the word: kind, generous, forgiving, loving, supportive... and COOL. He will surely be missed by all.

I am so deeply sorry to Sandy and family. I loved being in a band with Phil in the early 90's. He was a soft and gentle soul that cherished his family and talked about his love for them constantly during rehearsals. I always admired him for that. May the Lord Bless the Landis family as you heal from such a deep loss!
