Obituary of Andrew R. Dedinsky

Andrew R. Dedinsky of Stanhope, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center Hospice Unit surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 years old. Mr. Dedinsky was born on November 16, 1930 in Lansford, Pa. to the late John and the late Mary (Zinchak) Dedinsky.

Mr. Dedinsky was a supervisor of maintenance for the Newark Housing Authority and President of AFL/CIO Union Local #305 before retiring. Andrew was a veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his country during the Korean War as a Corpsman. While in the US Navy, he volunteered to participate in Atomic bomb testing where the government documented the effects of radiation on his body.

He also was a member of AA and proud of his 48 years of sobriety. Andrew was the past president of the Stanhope Senior Citizens Club and past vice president of the Netcong Seniors. He was an avid NY Giants Fan, enjoyed traveling but most importantly he loved spending time with his family and many friends.

Andrew is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Gloria, his devoted daughters, Laura Ziegert (Wayne) and Lisa DeLuca (Stanley), his devoted son, Andrew Dedinsky (Anataya), his cherished grandchildren, Philip, Matthew, Christopher and Andrew, his brother, John Dedinsky (Irene) and his sister, Eleanor Stoffey (Lt. Col. Robert).

Andrew's Life Celebration will include visitation on Sunday, March 4th from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a funeral mass on Monday, March 5th at 10:00 am at St. Michael RC Church, 4 Church Street, Netcong, NJ - #973-347-0032. Friends and Family may gather at the funeral home at 8:45 am on Monday morning, March 5th before Mass. Andrew will be laid to rest at the Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington, NJ with full military honors immediately following the funeral mass.
