Obituary of John Moser Jr.
John Moser, 68, of Hopatcong, NJ died peacefully on July 20, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.
John was born August 6, 1949 in St. Mary's Hospital, Hoboken, NJ. He is the son of John W. Moser (deceased) and Lee Moser (nee Reuger, deceased); the step-son of Anna Weber Moser (deceased), and step-brother of Rudolph Weber (deceased) and Fritzi Legari (deceased). John is also pre-deceased by his father in law, Anthony Sisco on March 23rd, 2018.
John grew up in Milanville, PA. He attended Milanville Grade School and Damascus High School, graduating in 1967. John served in the United States Army (1969-1971), including service in Vietnam during 1970/1971.
After the Army he worked in a few small machine shops as a welder, then Metem Corporation in Parsippany, Prevost Car Inc. in Lyndhurst, Eagle Rock Bus Company in West Orange, M&M Transportation in Elizabeth, and for the past 11 years at Unique Systems in Cedar Knolls, before retiring in September 2017.
Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Donna Sisco Moser; son, Jeffrey Moser of Conshohocken, PA; daughter, Kelly Moser of Stanhope, NJ; sister and brother in law, Patricia LeRoy & Dennis Ventura of Marlton, NJ; sister in law and brother in law, Lou Ann & Joseph Marrone of The Villages, Florida; nephew, Kevin Mann and nieces, Lisa & Kayla Sanchez, of Florida; mother in law, Evelyn Sisco of The Villages, Florida; aunt, Theresa Moser and cousins Robert and Terry Moser of Florida; step sister Anna Dyckman of California and many step-nieces and nephews across the country.
Along with outdoor activities and gardening, John's major interest was working with the Patriots Path Council of the Boy Scouts of America, serving as campmaster for many years at Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation in Stanhope, NJ.
John's Life Celebration Services will include a visitation on Saturday, July 28th from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. There will be a prayer service and full military honors offered at 5:30 pm also at the funeral home on Saturday evening.
