Obituary of Marie Quaranta
Marie Quaranta, 95, of Mt. Arlington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9th at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Jersey City, on December 13, 1923 to the late Sem and Angelina (Muzzo) Itri, Marie resided there before moving to Lake Hopatcong in 1952 and then to Mt. Arlington in 1968. She was an owner of Jefferson Lumber Co. where she was an important part of its operation. Marie loved life, entertaining, especially family and friends, and welcomed anyone with open arms to enjoy a meal. She was loved by all who met her and leaves this legacy through her children and grandchildren
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph and brother, Aldo Itri.
Survivors include three daughters, Dianne Fredericks, Judith Mino (David) and Sandra Quaranta-Guido (Russ), and a son Ralph Quaranta (Darla), eleven grandchildren, Gregory Fredericks, Diana Mino, David Mino (Brittney), Andrew Mino (Alicia), Nicole Guido, Alexandra Guido, Anthony Guido, Michael Guido, Jessica Crawford (Brad), Ralph Quaranta and Christopher Quaranta, great grandson, Cole Crawford and two sisters in law, Diana Quaranta and Mary Lytle, who was her best friend and partner at Jefferson Lumber. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and her loving caregiver, Vivvett Powell.
Marie’s Life Celebration will include visiting on Friday July 12 from 2-5 and 7-9 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday July 13 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Lake Hopatcong. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
