Obituary of Joseph Michael Takacs

Joseph Michael Takacs of Washington Township passed away Tuesday September 3, 2019.

He was 68.

Born in New York, New York, he lived in Hopatcong prior to moving to Washington Township 25 years ago.

A master cabinet and stained-glass designer and builder, Joseph was the owner of The Glass Cabinet Shop in Washington Township.

A Vietnam Army veteran, he was a member of VFW Post 10101 in Hopatcong, an avid vintage car restorator and a member of the National Studebaker Club. His most recent restoration was to a 59 Studebaker, which he also enjoyed driving.

Devoted father of Loriana and Marie Elaina Takacs. Dear brother of Chris and John Takacs, Mary Ann Cocuzza and Catherine Pouliot. Loving son of the late Joseph and Mary (nee: Christofilou) Takacs

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Joseph’s Life Celebration on Sunday September 8 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday September 9 at 10:00AM at St. Jude RC Church, Hopatcong. All are invited to meet directly at church.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
