Obituary of Richard P. Koppinger

Richard P. Koppinger of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville surrounded by his loving family. He was 76 years old. Richard was born on October 27, 1943 in New York City to the late Louis and the late Adele (Mehes) Koppinger. Mr. Koppinger co-owned and operated Wire/Cable Fabricating Devices in Morris Plains for many years. Richard enjoyed fishing, fixing things, all things penguins, all cars (especially his yellow Chevy SSR), maintaining his property, and collecting wristwatches, but most importantly, Richard loved spending time with his cherished family. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Jessie (Robertson), his devoted sons, Richard, Jr. & his wife, Christina and Robert & his wife, Sandra, his grandchildren, Holly, Kelly, and James, and 7 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include his siblings, Louis Koppinger, Adele Heide, Diane Koppinger, Suzen Feig and Wendy Mellian and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Robert. Richard's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Friday, December 6th from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. There will be a Final Dismissal on Saturday, December 7th at 10:00 am also at the funeral home. Richard will be laid to rest at the Good Shepherd RC Cemetery in Green Twp., NJ. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
