Obituary of Gennaro "Jerry" Basciano

Gennaro Basciano, 79, of the Budd Lake section of Mt. Olive Township passed away on Tuesday May 19, 2020 at his home. Born in Bronx, NY, Jerry resided in Park Ridge, NJ prior to moving to Budd Lake five years ago. He worked as a bricklayer for Mason Tenders Union in New York City for 40 years. Jerry loved spending time with his three grandchildren and spent much of his time with them. He lived for his beloved wife and watched over his extended family like they were his own. He was an avid horseracing fan and always kept up on the latest news. Most important to Jerry was "La Famiglia". Jerry was predeceased by a son, Anthony and three brothers, Dominic, Joseph and Vincent. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine, Daughter, Kim, three grandchildren, Danielle, Nick and Grace DiMeo, brother Michael and his wife, Kathy and two sisters in law, Antoinette and Theresa. Out of an abundance of love and due to the restrictions of "social distancing", the family has chosen to hold Jerry's services privately. Arrangements are entrusted to Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing, NJ.
