Santo and I and my family have hundreds of fun memories of aunt Millie. The one that sticks in my head is the night we all had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Staten Island. She was so happy that we were all going to be together and it happened to be Santo’s birthday that night so she was excited to spend the night with her Godson. That night defined our family! We ate, we drank, we danced, and we shared stories of past and present. The next day aunt Millie called me to thank me for organizing such a special dinner and said she had the time of her life that night. It was a night I will treasure forever. Make memories cause at the end that’s all we have left to reflect on. RIP my beautiful Aunt Millie we will all miss you so much. My husband and I have been "Summer residents" of Hopatcong since 1965. Only in the past few years since our retirement have we been able to stay here all summer and not just on weekends or vacations.
It has been our pleasure to join the Senior Lunch Bunch where we met dear Millie (and Betty too). Because we have our roots in Brooklyn and my name is Carmela also we bonded immediately. Last year when I returned from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel feast in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (where my husband and I grew up) I gave her a scapular of Our Lady. I will never forget how touched she was at receiving it and our bond was even closer.
Please accept our sincerest condolences to you her dear family and friends on the loss of such a fine lady. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, even those of us who only knew her for a short while.
