Obituary of Carmela "Millie" Castoro

Carmela "Millie" Castoro, 87, of Hopatcong passed away at her home on Wednesday June 24, 2020. Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 22, 1932 to the late Carmelo and Mary Divardi, she grew up there and moved to Hopatcong in 1966. Millie worked in the Borough Clerk's office in Hopatcong for 25 years prior to her retirement. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Jude's Church in Hopatcong for many years. Millie loved traveling with her late husband, Vito and spending time with her adoring family. In addition to her husband, Millie was predeceased by her daughter, Diane Lounsbery and her brother, Luigi. Survivors include her son, Michael A. and wife, Shelli, grandchildren, Michael J. and Kristen and sister-in-law, Betty Castoro. Millie is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Millie's Life Celebration will include visiting on Monday June 29, 2020 from 3-7PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A funeral Mass will be privately celebrated. Friends and relatives are invited to attend public graveside prayers on Tuesday June 30 at 11:30 AM at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Township.
