Obituary of Timothy J. Grealy

Timothy J. Grealy of Lake Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 63 years old. Timothy was born on April 12, 1958 in New York City to the late Martin and the late Ann (McElroy) Grealy. Timothy was an Engineering Manager at Picatinny Arsenal for 35 years. Mr. Grealy was an active and longtime member of Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church in Lake Hopatcong, where he also served as a lector, a eucharistic minister, CYO Basketball Director and carnival operations chairman. Timothy previously served as cubmaster of Pack 111 Cub Scouts in Jefferson Twp. for many years. Timothy enjoyed golfing, woodworking and cars; but most importantly, he cherished his time with his family. He coached local youth sports and was a referee for youth basketball. In addition, Timothy was a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick and the Northwest NJ Irish American Association (NWJIAA), where he currently served as Vice President. Timothy was an alumnus of Regis High School Class of 1976 and Manhattan College Alumnus Class of 1980. Timothy is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Kathleen (nee Powers), his devoted sons, Brian & his wife, Kelly; Sean & his fiancée, Julia; Timothy Jr. & his fiancée, Sarah; and his cherished grandson, Finn. Additional survivors include his siblings, Christine Brown-Daly (Ray), Eileen Taylor (Jim), Nancy Houlihan (Chris), Martin Grealy, Jr., Mary Murray (Michael) and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Timothy's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Tuesday, June 1st from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. There will be a funeral mass on Wednesday morning, June 2nd at 10:00 am at Our Lady Star of Sea, 204 Espanong Road, Lake Hopatcong, NJ. Timothy will be laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please donate blood in Timothy's memory.
