Jack & Betty were and will always remain a large part of my life as I've known them since birth. They were a great pair. They were extremely generous to my brothers and I as we were growing up, a large box would arrive every Christmas and we also had the pleasure of their company every Spring for many years. We all became great friends, I was very sorry to hear of Jacks recent passing, my love and thoughts are with Jacks family at this time.

To Tommy, Jimmy, Betty Anne & Peggy.
We are so sorry to hear of Jack’s passing on Monday. He was a great friend to us from the day we met in 1984 and the mutual friendship continued since then. As we moved from winter into spring we could almost set our watches for Jack & Bettys much anticipated annual visit to Ireland..presents for all and every year the latest edition of the Hess trucks. Throughout these many visits and the inevitable social gatherings that ensued we enjoyed their company and conversation, with many lively discussions on history and politics. Both he and Betty were a very significant and meaningful presence in our lives and we are so sorry we can’t be there to say our last goodbye to a great friend.

Our deepest sympathies to Tommy, Jimmy, BettyAnne , Peggy and all the extended Flinn family. We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Jack. What a fine man and dear friend he was to us. We have so many fond memories of him. One such memory, was when Jack turned up at JFK airport with a “Welcome to America” greeting with a bottle of champagne under his arm. As young emigrants full of hope and trepidation on starting our professional careers, this ‘Céad Míle Fáilte’ welcome certainly put us on the right track. Our friendship continued and we enjoyed many weekends in his house with Betty and loved meeting all the Flinn family. He and Betty were so generous and welcoming to us and we enjoyed their visits every year when they came to Ireland. May he now Rest in Peace with his beloved Betty. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h'anam dílis' (may his holy soul be on the right side of God). Love Cathal, Annie, Sinéad, Liam, Jack and Kate Barry xo
