Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Braun

Elizabeth Ann Braun, 78, of Whiting, NJ, formerly of Hopatcong, passed away at home on Sunday February 6, 2022.

Born on February 15, 1943 in Newark, NJ to the late Andrew and Florence (Bliskey) Castles, Elizabeth resided in West Orange and Hopatcong prior to moving to Whiting five years ago. She was retired from her position as an Office Manager for Siwoff Low Vision Center of Chester, NJ.

Elizabeth loved crafts and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as her beloved Bassett Hound, Abbey.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Donald, Sr. in 2009, brothers Philip & Patrick Castles and sisters Evelyn Keeler & Irene McBride.

Survivors include two sons Donald G., Jr. and his wife Susan and Craig M. and his wife Nicky, Five grandchildren James Braun and his fiancé Jackie Venuti, Beau Braun, Christine Braun and her fiancé Spencer Traugh, Matthew Braun and Mark Braun and his wife Morgan, two great grandchildren Everley Traugh and Emilia Braun, brothers James, Daniel, Richard and Michael Castles and sisters Sarah Castles, Florence Bowers and Anna Castles, as well as, many nieces and nephews.  Also surviving is her long-time best friend Joan Weston.

Elizabeth's Life Celebration will include visiting on Sunday February 13, 2022 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A funeral prayer service will be offered on Monday February 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Elizabeth will be laid to rest next to her late husband Donald, Sr. at Pleasantdale Cemetery in West Orange, NJ.
