Obituary of James R. Conover

James "Jimmy" Conover, 80, of Hopatcong passed away on Tuesday September 6, 2022 at St. Clare's Hospital, Denville Campus.

Born on February 16, 1942 in Dover, NJ to the late Benny and Dorothy (Gawthrop) Conover, Jimmy resided in Dover and Byram Township prior to moving to Hopatcong in 1976. He was a Licensed Electrical Contractor and owned and operated Conover Electric in Hopatcong. Jimmy was a member and past president of the Lakeland Corvette Club and he enjoyed boating, water skiing and cruises. He served proudly in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1965.

Survivors include his wife, Bette, his brothers; Lee (Mary Ann), Denny (Barbara) and Larry (Suzanne), several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

There will be a public Life Celebration Memorial Service for "Jimmy" on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the Elba Point Beach Club, 30 Ithanell Road, Hopatcong from 1pm to 5pm. Military Honors will be held at 4:30pm.
