Poppy, you were an incredible man and we will miss you. I will never forget all the memories I have with you from trips to LBI, our trip to North Carolina, the family dinners together, or when you attempted to teach me to be a better bowler. These are just a few of the many fun moments we had together. You are an incredible inspiration and you always put a smile on my face.
I will miss you, but I know you are still here with me. I hope you are in heaven working on your golf game or bowling some strikes.
I love you so much Poppy and miss you already ❤️

My Dad’s Footprints:
The Footprints Prayer talks about footprints in the sand, one set that belongs to me and the others that belong to the lord. As you turn and look at most times there are two sets of footprints in the sand but during the difficult times there is only one set when the lord is carrying us during our times of trouble and suffering.
When I turn and look, I see three sets of footprints: mine, the lord, and my dad. My dad was always there for us when needed. Dad, Pop, Poppy, Joe, Big Joe, or Joe Sr. as many of us may remember him was a very caring and compassionate person that would help anyone in their time of need.
Dad was about family. He enjoyed being around his family especially the grandkids, the great grandkids, and his extended family. He enjoyed all the trips to LBI to spend time with family. He enjoyed going to Oglebay Resort, in West Virginia with Ellie and to visit with his sister. This year he planned a trip for all of us to go to Oglebay because he wanted us to share the experience.
I have many memories and experiences that I can share, and it is hard to just pick one. The time I spent with him bowling, playing softball and golf serves many of my memories. As well as all those teaching moments from a dad to a son. I ask everyone to take a moment and remember your special memories.
As we gathered around in last hours, my son said it best, pop is the man who I aspire to become. My father provided me with the guidance of being a loving, moral, ethical, and strong person. I agree with my son and hope that I can follow in my father’s footsteps. When I look behind and only see the one set of footprints, I know it is the lord carrying me but also my dad.
Dad we all love you; you will be missed but never forgotten.

Joe was my first year apprentice teacher as an apprentice in IBEW Local 581 in 1980. The whole class loved him. He would let us leave a bit early from class on Monday night Football nights. He knew his trade, taught us well, an all around great guy. I worked for Joe years later. Class act, great foremen. I remember him fondly. He was a proud member of the IBEW, and helped greatly to make it better.

Tami - Our Father's were definitely one of a kind and because they were such great men it makes the loss even harder. Just remember all of the good times, good memories and many smiles that he has left you with and that will help to ease the pain. Praying for and thinking of you & your family! Sent with hugs from Texas.....
