Dearest Amanda and Lindsey,
I remember meeting your mom at the grocery store and that started a wonderful 30 year friendship.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to come to NJ and support you last weekend. I'm in upstate NY full time, caring for my mother who needs 24/7 care with dementia and other mobility issues. Although I hadn't seen your mom since September when we met for breakfast at our favorite IHop and I got to see the new apartment, I chatted with her often on the phone. I knew she was in the assisted living facility but didn't realize how far her health had gotten the best of her. She never said.
Your mom and I spent many fun hours together starting at the babysitting co-op, supporting your various activities in school, hanging out in your backyard and going out to breakfast (and occasionally lunch or for drinks!)
She was an inspiration to me as she worked so hard to care for you and your dad and continue a full time career as a nurse.
She loved you and was happy for all your life successes, weddings, babies, and also for your struggles.
I will miss her.
