Obituary of Donald L. Cardin

Donald L. Cardin, Jr. of Hopatcong, NJ passed away on Thursday, February 12th at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida surrounded by his loving family. He was 52. Donald was born March 6, 1962 in Manhattan, NY to the late Donald L. Cardin Sr. and the late Joan M. (Horgan) Cardin. He was a truck driver with Teamsters Local #863 and worked for Wakefern Foods in Elizabeth, NJ for many years. Don was very active in the Hopatcong Youth Wrestling, the Hawks Soccer Program and cheerleading with his daughter. He was an avid reader but most importantly he loved and cherished his family. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran serving from 1983 to 1991. Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years, Theresa (Ladomirak), his cherished children; Derek, Kevin, Kayla, Matthew and Jack. Additional survivors include his siblings; Kasey Maranzano & her husband, Benny, James Cardin & his wife, Lisa and Terri Oswin & her husband, Bill and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Donald's Life Celebration will include visitation on Thursday, February 19th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ . There will be a funeral mass on Friday, February 20th at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake RC Church, 8 Windemere Avenue in Mount Arlington, NJ. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at the church on Friday morning. Donald will be laid to rest at the Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mount Olive Twp., NJ.
