Uncle Al was a good man great husband and father grand and great grandfather son and brother and uncle and mentor to so many Married to a Morris Hills student Lisa I knew many of Uncle Sonny’s students all spoke highly and admirably of his strength of character and conviction which shaped their lives in a positive way On Togno St he was another father to us all who kept the Dead End Kids from getting into too much trouble while teaching us to take responsibility for our actions especially the not so good ones He was a man who stood up for what was right and would back up his words with his ITALIAN when necessary while maintaining his integrity and love especially to those of us who needed his correction I’ll always remember Uncle Sonny cooking fish on Christmas Eve and singing The Twelve Days of Christmas and playing A mode with Donny at the family picnic Praying for the whole family at this time of mourning but rejoicing to have lived two doors down from Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Sonny and the boys and praying that Uncle Sonny will here those precious words we all long to hear from Our Lord Well done My good and faithful servant enter now into thy reward

I will miss Uncle Sonny so deeply. We had a special bond. Our monthly haircuts at the shop, along with our lunch dates afterwards. Occasional coffee in between at Panera, where he always had a bear claw. He always enjoyed talking about old times, how he missed my parents and how funny my mom was. You are now at peace with Aunt Jeanette and your family in heaven. I’m sure having a blast. You will never be forgotten. I love you. Sandra.

My condolences to the family. I was a student of his for 3 years. He was an excellent instructor in every way. I was the award winner of Building Trades Award in 1972. He was someone that I highly respected. He started my career to be a Carpenter and eventually a Senior Building Inspector. It all due to this wonderful man. Rest in peace!
