Dear Tommy and Family,
I am so deeply saddened to learn of Margie's passing. She has been on my mind for the past months and I just googled her name. Our years as roommates at Rider were some of the best memories of my life. Having both of you in Marc and my wedding party was an honor. I will always cherish the times we shared. It was a big part of our lives. It seems like yesterday. Marc and I send our love and sincere sympathy for your loss. I share your sadness.

Joanie, that is a wonderful tribute. You didn't leave out anything. It was through Margie that I me you and that makes me happy. I haven't seen her in over 40 years and her picture on this page takes me back to wonderful times. Do you know that it was Margie that told Judy and I that there was a new potato chip that was not fried? I believe she was speaking of Pringles....but Judy and I said, "no way" and Margie pretty much said, "yes way". I loved her, the skee ball in her garage, the Christmas Eve parties her parents allowed her to have in their "rec" room....many trips to the beach. I remember a time when myself and the Walsh's went to Lenny's Pagoda and told Margie she had to come with us. She told her boss that she had to leave to work at her dad's liquor store and off she came with us.

Anyone lucky enough to cross paths with Mrs. Walsh experienced a special level of optimism, and always saw her smiling. Not everyday you meet someone as great as Mrs. Walsh, but when you do, you never want to say good bye. Mrs. Walsh you will be missed. My deepest sympathy goes to the Walsh Family.

We moved across the street from Margie, Tom, TJ (Chris was not born yet) in 1982. We raised our 7 children there until we moved in 2003. Our biggest regret in moving was leaving the Walsh family as we knew we would never get better friends. We were so fortunate to raise our kids on Bank Street because of the Walsh family. Margie made their 1st day of school year after year the most memorable - she would sing and dance as the kids walked to the bus stop until they were waving goodbye from their seats. Actually she sang and danced just about every time you were with her. Margie was the happiest, kindhearted, inspiring, nonjudgmental woman I ever knew…she made others feel special. The picture is exactly how I think of Margie….with a smile from ear to ear.
"Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and very dear. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal." We love you Margie.

Our paths crossed many times over the years. Our boys played soccer together and Margie was always the biggest cheerleader! Although our kids did not have Mrs.Walsh as a teacher she was very active at Kennedy School and we got to know her exuberant positive personality. Kennedy-Lincoln/Roosevelt-Eisenhower-and RHS our children and the Walsh boys were always together. Margie was a devout Catholic and I'm sure her faith has carried her through the tough times. God Bless you Margie.

Margie was my dearest and best friend from Kindergarten Registration throughout our years together at Port Morris Elementary School. Time spent with Margie in school, on the playground, with her family swimming in the Muscenetcong River by the "deep hole", 'nickel nights' at Bertrand's Island, saying our prayers together at night, and always having so much fun with her are among my most cherished memories of Margie and our childhood together.
Although, we went to different high schools, colleges, etc., whenever we could be together, it was like we had just seen each other the day before! It was an honor to have Margie as a bridesmaid in my wedding and to be a part of her wedding to Tommy.
Watching Margie with her new baby boys is another touching memory.
After 60 years of friendship, Margie's gorgeous smile, kind and giving spirit, positive attitude, love of life, and her infectious laugh will forever be in my heart and among my most treasured memories of her! I love her dearly and she will be greatly missed.
Prayers and deepest sympathies for the Walsh and DeMarino families.

A wonderful teacher of mine who I will always remember. Sometimes you never remember what a teacher taught you, but rather how they treated you. Mrs. Walsh was always a kind, friendly, and pleasant woman. Her memory will remain with thousands of students who had her. My prayers are out for her and her family. May she enjoy the life after life!

Margie was wonderful. So many afternoons after school were spent laughing with her and Nancy Sekella when my boys attended Kennedy school. I loved working with her on many a party we planned. I'll miss her smile and her laugh and those gloriously innocent days when my boys were so little. Thank you for the lessons you taught so many years ago that my sons continue to use to this day. Goodbye for now my friend. Mary Axelson

I am so lucky to say I had this amazing woman in my life since birth. She is my Godmother, my aunt, and a huge piece of who I am today. She inspired me to become a teacher and showed me how to love and live so optimistically. She is the kindest soul, and lived with the most energy I've ever seen. She has a beautiful place in heaven now.

It has been almost my entire life of knowing Margie and family. She was definitely one of a kind. Never met someone so full of life. Was always happy and dancing around. If you were having a bad day all you had to do was see Margie. She could brighten anyone's day!
So many years myself or one of my siblings would miss our bus and Margie would always drive us with a smile on her face I will always remember every Friday when she would be yelling "TGIF Yip Yip Yipee" out her car window!
I know you will be missed by so many people who's lives you have touched as much as you did mine.

Margie Walsh was a wonderful teacher who made students love to learn. I first met her when I worked as a substitute in Roxbury. I had the pleasure of going with her to The Planetarium on a field trip. A few years later, my daughter received her as a teacher and it was a wonderful year. She was a good friend an inspired many. I know she will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. Prayers for her and her family.

So sad to hear of the passing of Margie. I would like to share with you a very special poem that her sister Marylou sent me as part of a card when my mom passed away 17 years ago. When I feel sad I still bring out the poem to read and give me comfort. I hope it will bring some comfort to all of you. "Remember the way she laughed. Remember the times she cried. Remember the way she lived instead of the way she died. Remember the brightness she brought us instead of this mourning gloom. Then think of her, entering heaven....She always could light up a room."
