Obituary of Frank A. Liguori

Frank A. Liguori, Sr. of Hopatcong passed away on Saturday June 9, 2012 at his home. He was 65. Born in Brooklyn, NY on May 31, 1947 to Jennie (Miragio) and the late Alfred Liguori, Frank was a resident of Hopatcong for more than 50 years. He was a Police Lieutenant employed by the Borough of Hopatcong for 25 years prior to his retirement in 1994. Frank served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a decorated soldier earning the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, Expert Badge Rifle Bar and the Sharpshooter Badge with auto rifle bar. In addition to his medals from the United States Government, Frank was the recipient of several medals issued by the Republic of Vietnam, including the Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation. An avid outdoorsman, Frank loved hunting, fishing, boating and just being outside. He was a member of the Columbia Valley Rod and Gun Club. He was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was time he spent with his family. Frank was a gentleman, a loyal police officer and an asset to the Borough of Hopatcong as a resident and employee. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and by the many friends who knew him. Loving husband of Cory, beloved father of Frank A., Jr., adoring Grandpa of Gabriella and Anthony, devoted son of Jennie (Miragio) and the late Alfred, dearest brother of Grace Mazzarella and husband Ralph, cherished brother in law of Robert Parker and wife Nancy and Thomas Parker and wife Tina. Frank is also survived by nieces, nephews and many cousins.
