So very sorry for your loss. Hope you can find some comfort from this scripture found at Rev 21:3-5. 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! My brave cousin. No coincidence she was born on Pearl Harbor Day. Erin had a wonderful way to put things in perspective. She was more like a big sister then a cousin. When we were kids she bought me one of my first dolls with her own money that I promptly named Erin.
Dale Dale Shepard and his crew out of Cleveland Clinic ( one of my colleagues in the cancer research fight) will be adding Erin to their list of folks they are biking for.

Erin and Dave were my neighbors for many years, just up the hill from us. Erin was always friendly and happy when I saw her. I will always see her in my mind passing the house with a piece of antique furniture in the back of her truck. I believe she told me she went to estate sales. It was a passion of hers I'm sure. One day she came over out of nowhere and said "Kathy I have this beautiful Victorian picture and since your house is Victorian I would like you to have it". I was very touched by her kindness and generosity. It is a Christmas scene and it hangs on my wall every Christmas and into the winter months. It is quite large. I will always think of her pretty face when I see it, and her laugh, when you heard it, which we always could if she was outside, it made you want to be in on it with her!
Dave, DJ and Val, I'm very sorry for your loss. She will always be with you. Look for the signs that only you will see.

Erin and Dave built their home in Stanhope shortly after we did. I believe it was their first Christmas there that we found an invitation in our mailbox. They were putting their Christmas tree outside after the holiday and invited all the neighborhood children to a "Nature Tree Trimming Party" where the tree would be trimmed with fruits, berries and popcorn so the wildlife would have food for the winter. A simple gesture like that was such an insight into a person's soul and a memory that has stayed with us for 22 years. We'll miss you and your incredible laugh Erin. I am so lucky to have shared so much of my life as a friend to Val and with a wonderful mother like Erin. I have never felt so welcome in a home. Put aside the cozy way she kept her home, but all of the wonderful things that the Hanna's allowed me to do. They allowed me to bombard on their vacation to LBI, call them mom and dad, and essentially live at their home in grade school (there was lots of cheese eating and ice cream raiding). I have never met such wonderful people and such a beautiful woman inside and out. My heart is heavy hearing this news. My heart is with you all during this most difficult time.

I met Erin and Dave after our children Chaz and Valerie became engaged. I was so nervous but Erin hugged me and welcomed us into the family. She had such a positive energy about her, a warmth, like we had been friends for awhile, as did Dave, and DJ. She will be remembered by her grandchildren in the wonderful stories they will be told of Grammy and the pictures of her life.
