My heart weighs heavy as I write these words to be,
I will try my best to describe the surreal and to bring some warmth to thee.
The soul is a timeless package containing the immortal information of life,
And although Mark has left to travel for all time, he will never be far from you, his loving, caring wife.
Though lives may end, something remains which is just as special for sure.
It's the loving devotion of a dedicated spouse; a light which shines so pure.
Taking leave of this world means not the end as there is much more for Mark to do.
You see there is very hard work that lay ahead for him; to protect and watch over both of you.
There is a little heartbeat growing inside, taking refuge for some time to be,
When he is old enough to understand, he will seek information about Daddy.
Whom is my father, who helped bring me into this world? Of you will ask your boy.
While a tear may fall, a smile will surely flourish,
For uttering words describing the love of your life is quite simply a wonderful joy.
It's a future event that is set in the past and it will fill your heart with love,
As you speak of Mark's life he will be watching down on you from heaven up above.
All else is small in the world compared to the challenge that has been placed by God upon you.
Know that the love you and Mark share can never be broken, it lives on in his spirit and the life of your child too.

Our family met Mark when our sailor, Jake Brill, brought him home with him on his first leave. We enjoyed having him in our home and got to experience, first hand, the bond that these young warriors forge with each other. As parents and grandparents, we know that our children have volunteered to step in harms way. We applaud them together, we support them together and we mourn them together.
