Obituary of Mark L. Favara

Mark Leonard Favara of Cape Coral, Fla. and of Hopatcong, NJ passed away on Monday, December 29th at his home in Hopatcong, NJ. He was born on June 27, 1988 in Dover, NJ. Mark was a longtime resident of Hopatcong, NJ. Mark was an Active Duty Navy "LS2" Logistics Specialist Second Class with 4 years of services including 1 deployment. He was stationed on the USS Nimitz CVN 68 and Fort Myers Recruiting Center. He graduated Hopatcong High School in 2006 and was currently enrolled in Rassmussen College for a bachelor's in web design. He loved all sports. Mark played basketball, football, soccer and tennis. He stood behind his Green Bay Packers every season. Mark was an adventurer, always exploring the wilderness with hikes, fishing and camping. He traveled with his wife, and while on deployment to far and fascinating places. Mark enjoyed a good IPA beer, strumming with his bass guitar and working on computers. His family was everything to him. Survivors include; his beloved wife, Lauren Claire Favara, his baby boy Favara (expecting child), Akita (our dog), his father, Leonard Favara, his mother, Donna Herrera (Grigni) and his maternal grandmother May Grigni. Additional survivors include his brother, Brian James Favara, his father and mother-in-law, Jeffrey Michael Culbert and Luanne Murphy Culbert, his brother-in-law, Matthew Joseph Culbert, and his sister-in-laws; Kristen Taylor Culbert and Erin Leigh Culbert. Mark's Life Celebration includes visitation on Saturday, January 3rd from 12:00 to 4:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a Prayer Service offered at 3:30 pm also at the Funeral Home. One of Mark's favorite quotes was, "May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face and may the winds of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars".
