Obituary of Kurt Williges

Kurt Williges, of Byram Township, passed away at his home on Monday April 28. He was 56. Born in East Orange on August 22, 1957, Kurt resided in Parsippany prior to moving to Byram 17 years ago. He was employed as a retail manager for several home improvement stores, including the Home Depot in, both, Ledgewood and Rockaway. Kurt loved sports and was a passionate New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. Golf was also very important to Kurt and he could often be found at his 6:00am tee time at Lake Lackawanna Golf Course. He enjoyed trips to Meadowlands Racetrack and would even win a few wagers occasionally. In addition to Yankee Stadium and the Meadowlands, Kurt loved trips with his family to Wildwood and the Jersey Shore and relaxing in the Lazy River at the Land of Make Believe. Kurt was a loving, caring person whose greatest joy was spending time with his family which included his dog "Bailey Girl". Anyone who knew Kurt came to understand that when you invited him to a party, event or just asked him for a favor, he would always show up "30 minutes early". Devoted husband of Danielle, loving father of Sara, known to Kurt as his "Noodle", beloved son of Patricia Armelin, dear brother of Stephen and wife, Sharon, adoring uncle of Stephen, Jr, Samantha and Sydney, also surviving are his stepsisters, Susan Fundock and husband, John and Janet Fundock and husband, Mike and many aunts and cousins. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Kurt's Life Celebration on Friday May 2 from 6-8 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing. Cremation was held privately.
