Obituary of Reverend Father John Joseph McGuigan

Reverend Father John Joseph McGuigan died Saturday September 11, 2010 at his parish residence, St. Jude RC Church, Hopatcong. Born in County Monaghan, Ireland, he was ordained in Ireland on June 8, 1968. He served as Associate Pastor at St. Philip RC Church, Clifton, from 1968 to 1972, St. Rose of Lima RC Church, East Hanover, from 1972 to 1973, St. George RC Church, Paterson, from 1973 to 1976, Our Lady of Victories RC Church, Paterson, from 1976 until his appointment to St. Jude RC Church, Hopatcong, in 1985. Father John served in the British Army, was the moderator for St. Jude's Rosary Altar Society and enjoyed computers. Dear brother of Jim McGuigan. Cherished uncle of Caroline, Patricia and Andrew McGlone. Visitation will be held at St. Jude RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong on Tuesday September 14th from 2-7:30PM with Vesper Service at 7:30PM and Wednesday September 15th from 2-7:30PM with the Requiem Mass at 7:30PM. Interment: Thursday, September 16th, Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. Those wishing to follow the procession to the cemetery are asked to gather at 11:00AM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing.
