Obituary of Thomas J. Simpson

BYRAM TWP. - Thomas J. Simpson died Tuesday June 1 at his home in Byram Twp. He was 54 years old. Born in Natrona Heights, PA, Tom earned a bachelors degree in pharmacy & an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He has resided in Byram Twp. for two years having previously lived in Stanhope. He recently retired from his position as Chairman & CEO of Caduceus Marketing Research of Mt. Arlington, NJ. In his youth, Tom was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and attended the International Boy Scout Jamboree in Japan in 1971. Tom enjoyed model railroads, bicycling, flying and skiing and participated in triathlons Survivors include his daughter Merrill M. of Byram, step-daughter, Shelby C. Rhodes of Byram, son-in-law Mark S. Hartmann, Jr. of Byram, a sister Sandra Simpson of Saxonburg, PA, a brother-in-law Jim Sorenson of Saxonburg, PA and his long-time friend Martha Choy of New York, NY. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Tom was predeceased by his ex-wife Michele G. Rhodes-Simpson. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial gathering on Saturday June 5 from 1-4 and 7-9 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing. A prayer service will be offered Saturday evening at 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Cremation is private.
