Obituary of John D. Blake

John Dowell Blake, Jr. passed away Friday November 21, 2014. He was 31. Born in Dover, John was a resident of Hopatcong and a graduate of Hopatcong High School Class of 2001. John earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bucknell University in 2005. John enjoyed music, especially rap, the business world, football and held a black belt in karate. John was an entrepreneur/musician and was employed many places, making friends everywhere he went. Employment included production liaison at the Stanhope House and Transportation Agent for JB Hunt . He also worked for Broadview Networks and the Hopatcong Department of Public Works before his last occupation as Management Assistant for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Loving son of Cynthia Jefferson Blake and John D. Blake, Sr., dearest brother of Michael Blake, cherished grandson of Mattie Moody, beloved nephew of Marion Jefferson, Gwendolyn Holston, Jerri and Howard Prigg, Denise Blake and Gloria and Anthony Jefferson. John is also survived by many cousins. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John's Life Celebration on Friday November 28 from 4-8 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A prayer service will be offered at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. John will be laid to rest on Saturday November 29 at Ivy Hill Cemetery, 1201 Easton Road, Philadelphia, PA 19150. Graveside service will begin at 11:00AM. Those wishing to attend should meet directly at the cemetery.
