Yes, Joe was "the man" when I was a kid in the early 50s. One memory I can still see like it was happening right now; I went to his store to buy a pack of cigarettes for my Dad. Joe looks me square in the eye and says "Brian, these betters be for your Dad, cause if I catch you smoking I'll kick your a....". So kinda a Father to all us kids. Still see the cigar in his mouth. I attribute my seeing Joe smoking a cigar, and later pictures of General Patton smoking cigars - the two guys whose example I followed....smoked cigars for many years. Thanks Joe, for being there in Port Morris for all those years, and all the lives you favorably touched.....nobody ever said a bad thing about Joe Perfetti....
