Obituary of John Robert Grogan

John Robert Grogan, of Netcong, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014. He was 45. Born on January 27, 1969 in Morristown to Barbara Russo and the late David Grogan, John grew up in Netcong and was a graduate of Lenape Valley Regional High School. He graduated from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania, Class of 1991, with a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice. John resided in Columbia, MD for eight years before moving back to his hometown of Netcong about one year ago. John worked as a Government Account Specialist for Verizon in Columbia, MD. John was an avid golfer, a passionate Boston Red Sox fan and was often involved in charity running events to raise funds for children's charities. Loving son of Barbara (Russo) and the late David Grogan, dear brother of Lori Brodman and her husband, Adam, beloved uncle of Matthew and Teresa Brodman and cherished nephew of Thomas Russo and wife, Lorraine and Maryanne Roe and husband, Craig. John is also survived by several cousins. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John's Life Celebration on Friday February 21 from 5-8 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday February 22 at 9:30 am at St. Michael's Church, 4 Church Street, Netcong. All are invited to meet at church for Mass. John will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery, Immediately following Mass.
