Obituary of James Watkinson

James "Doc" Watkinson died Saturday April 19, 2008 at home in the Landing section of Roxbury. He was 64 years old. Born in Rahway, Dr. Watkinson grew up in Cranford and has resided in Landing for 30 years. He earned his bachelor's degree from Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, PA in 1967 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI in 1970. He was a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and owner/operator of the Country Lakes Animal Clinic in Mine Hill. Dr. Watkinson loved gardening and photography, was an accomplished carpenter, was a passionate Yankees fan and enjoyed spending time boating on Lake Hopatcong. Loving husband of Pixie (nee: Falcon), beloved father of Johanna of Mine Hill, Jeff and Jack, both at home in Landing, dear brother of the late Joy Moullin (2001) and cherished uncle of Andrea Heddle of Bethpage, NY.
