Lou Barbato is at Peace laying next to his wonderful wife Terry. As I remember Lou's journey from his life to his resting place, I will always remember the distinguished Viewing, the funeral procession and his burial. His final destination was worthy and prominent through his behavior and achievements were befitting of the man he was. Netcong's Chief of Police J. Blessing, his staff, his dedication to honor Lou, The leading motorcycle escorts, the Marines that stood guard at the casket at the cemetery, the Police on his horse, the touching Bag Piper; to every one that was there to honor Lou, no one could have asked for a more touching, beautiful send off to a great man. Every moment will be remembered both during his life and his death. There was much sorry that day, but also joy and peace knowing how much Lou was loved and how many lives he touched. He will always be remembered. This grandeur send off was an honor to witness.

Our condolences to the Barbato family.
All was right in the world when Lou was sitting on his stoop, gearing up for a heavy snow or coming over to us to lend a hand--a good friend and neighbor.
He'll be sorely missed. Walter & Jane de Almeida

To all of Lou's Siblings and Children - may you peacefully rest now in heaven with Theresa who no matter what, i know was the LOVE OF YOUR LIFE! Support and Prayers is sent to the entire family - Lou always kissed me and my mom whenever he ran into us in Netcong and always a huge smile and hug - he was a nice man and good to us - so sorry Lou you loved life and I know you loved that damn motorcycle and took me for a ride I will never forget - It scared me to death and you were only the second person I ever go on motorcycle with the other was Patsy Basenese and he also scared the crap out of me - but boy you sure enjoyed having and riding it and did many good runs in your time - your will be missed Lou by many who cared for you and was proud of you as the Netcong Chief of Police - MaryAnn Rampone RIP

Our sympathies to the Barbato Family. I last spoke with Lou about two weeks age. I've known Lou for over 40yrs in the Law Enforcement Community and as a friend in Netcong. Lou was a good cop and he will be missed. When my wife and I need a witness for our marriage license Lou was right there. Rest In Peace my friend.

Lou was a husband, father, father-in-law, brother and uncle, Chief of Police, a Marine and a hard worker; but what he really was just a good man. He always had a big smile and a kiss on the cheek when I saw him. He had a good sense of humor and a serious side. He would do anything to help when you needed it. A good man, no, a great man is no longer with us, but he is at peace. Rest In Peace my friend. You will be missed. You will not be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to the Barbato familiy, especially my sister Phyllis who is married to Lou III, and their son Anthony.
