Obituary of Prudence M. Mostowicz

Prudence Mary DeRosa Mostowicz of Hackettstown, NJ. peacefully passed away on the evening of August 23, 2014. She was born September 15, 1925 and was the daughter of Thomas & Josephine DeRosa, growing up in Astoria Queens, NY. After graduating high school, Prudence worked at the finer shops in Manhattan, before marrying the love of her life, Edward Mostowicz. They were happily married for sixty-six years. Left to cherish her memory are her five children - Edward (& Debra) Mostowicz, NY; Mary (& Pete) Hutchison, Jr., VA; Carol (& Don) Grubb, PA; Jeanette (& Patricia Marsico) Mostowicz, NJ; and Thomas Mostowicz, CO; along with ten grandchildren - Leslie Loving, VA; Andrew (& Melissa) Polito, NY; Cole (& Daniele Savier) Hutchison, VA; Joseph (& Iris) Quigley, TX; Jennifer (& Omar) Lancaster, TX; Abigail Spillman, PA; Lucas Grubb, PA; Samantha Mostowicz, NJ; Jeanette Marie Edwards, CO; and Tommy Mostowicz, CO. There are also 9 great-grandchildren, with a tenth on the way. She will be fondly remembered by their many friends and relatives. Through the years Prudence shared her talents, including her numerous handmade items, her writings, her songs. She was active in the Catholic War Veterans in Lindenhurst, NY, in the Senior Centers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and was an active member of numerous clubs. She and Ed started game groups and craft groups in their current residence, The Paragon Village of Hackettstown, NJ. They are members of the Catholic Church community. The family wishes to thank everyone for the many kind words and prayers.
